The week-long event was co-hosted by the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee on Disaster Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Vietnam Disaster Management Authority (VNDMA) and the Vietnam Television for the central and Central Highlands (VTV8) with the support of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Women.
Speaking at the event, Doan Thi Tuyet Nga from the organising board said the competition is expected to encourage public involvement, contributing to mitigating disaster risks in localities.
A total of 16 gameshows, including 12 qualifiers, three semi-finals and one final will be broadcast for a duration of 30 minutes each show in early 2022, she added.
The same day, deputy head of the committee and VNDMA General Director Tran Quang Hoai presented the Prime Minister’s certificates of merit to two collectives and two individuals in recognition of their dedication to raising public awareness of disaster prevention and control. The Vietnam News Agency bureau in the central and Central Highlands was among those receiving the honour.
