Deputy PM Hue made the statement at a May 27 meeting with the Dak Lak provincial People’s Committee on the local implementation of the Government’s resolutions, the province’s socio-economic situation in the beginning months of the year and tasks to the end of the year.

After hearing the province’s report, Deputy PM Hue praised the province’s accomplishments, particularly those in ensuring social welfare, preventing draught, successfully organising the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and 15th municipal People's Council for 2016-2021 tenure, and boosting new-style rural area construction.

He required local authorities to enhance administrative reforms and policies to lift difficulties and create breakthroughs in attracting investors while effectively implementing projects on restructuring agriculture.

The official also reminded the province of bettering management, reparation and upgrades of irrigation system to cope with climate change and minimise damages caused by draughts; shifting the planting structure with technological applications to elevate yields and income for people; mobilising resources to speed up the programme on building new-style rural areas; and strengthening national defence and security.

Deputy PM Hue and his entourage learned of the province’s suggestions and promised to report to the Government for the soonest solutions.

Earlier, Deputy PM Hue and his entourage examined Yen Ngua Dam and Cu Ewi commune in Cu Kuin district, a draught-hit region in Dak Lak province.
