I have been a loyal reader of Nhan Dan Newspaper over the past 60 years. Reading Nhan Dan Newspaper every day keeps me promptly updated on the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws.
I have a lot of memories of Nhan Dan and its editors-in-chief, including Hoang Tung, Hoang Ha, Da Dang, Huu Tho, Hong Vinh, Dinh The Huynh and Thuan Huu.
I strongly believe and hope that that the 70-year-old Party newspaper will progress side by side with the country’s development.
The newspaper has worked to cover wider fields of life while being active in fighting against the allegations of hostile forces. It has made positive contributions in both promoting communication work and enhancing Party building.

Throughout its history, Nhan Dan Newspaper has closely observed the Party’s directions in implementing its assigned tasks. The newspaper has kept renovating its operations in disseminating both Party and State guidelines and policies, while timely providing a scientific foundation for the Party and State in terms of planning and policy building.
A number of sharp and persuasive articles have been published in Nhan Dan newspaper, aiming to criticise and refute wrongful and hostile opinions and information, thus orienting public opinion correctly and creating consensus among cadres, Party members and the people.
During its seven decades of establishment and development, Nhan Dan Newspaper has affirmed its position as the flagship in the Party’s communication work, contributing to the country’s glorious achievements over the past 35 years of the Doi Moi (Renewal) process.

Information published by Nhan Dan newspaper, particularly foreign language versions of Nhan Dan Online, has provided Overseas Vietnamese readers with a deeper understanding and consolidation of our trust in the country’s strategic breakthroughs in socio-economic development.
Thanks to Nhan Dan Online, Vietnamese expats have been updated on the country’s achievements during the 35-year Doi Moi process, particularly in 2020 when Vietnam was one of only a few countries who successfully implemented the dual tasks of fighting COVID-19 while boosting socio-economic development.

Continue renovating to attract readers

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the first issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper, I hope that the newspaper’s journalists will maintain their firm political footing and promote the tradition of their predecessors.
In my opinion, Nhan Dan Television Channel has done well in bringing both tradition and history to the younger generation. I suggest the channel launch more programmes on life skills for students and schoolchildren.

Throughout its history, Nhan Dan Newspaper has fulfilled its role and responsibility in popularising the Party and State’s guidelines and policies, domestic and international political events as well as the country’s socio-economic development to readers across the country, including to ethnic minority groups in the northwest region.
Nhan Dan newspaper’s journalists need to enhance their political awareness, and understanding of ethnic culture in order to bring the newspaper closer to even more readers and timely reflect the aspirations of ethnic minority groups. From the viewpoint of a reader, I suggest that Nhan Dan newspaper should timely popularise the 13th National Party Congress’s resoultion to the public and help bring the Resolution to life.
The newspaper also needs to diversify and modernise its operations and utilise the internet and social networks to increase its attractiveness to readers. It is necessary to increase the number of articles refuting wrongful information and allegations in order to protect the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, as well as the State's policies and laws.
