The volunteer campaign has opened at Napock Primary School, Xaythany district in Laos’ Vientiane capital. The volunteer group of Hanoi youth presented 20 scholarships, worth VND 1 million each to disadvantaged students; handing over works, including upgrading two classrooms worth VND 100 million; and construction of two toilets worth VND 30 million.
Meanwhile, the group also provided free health exams and medicine to 1,000 locals in Xaythany in addition to offering guidelines on preventing disease epidemics and accidents.
The youth also shared advanced technology in animal breeding and cultivation with locals, while visiting and distributing presents to those in need.
They shared experience in youth union work and conduct cultural and sport exchanges with their Lao counterparts in the locality, as well as organise training courses on accident prevention for children in a number of local kindergartens.
In the framework of the working session at the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union Central Committee Office, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi offered many gifts with a total value of VND 500 million.
This is the eleventh time Hanoi youth have carried out this kind of volunteering in Vientiane, which contributes to promoting youth movements in the two capitals and continues nurturing the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
