Going to spiritual places in the first days of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday has become a familiar cultural activity of many Vietnamese families. This year, due to the complicated development of the COVID-19 epidemic, the number of people travelling into temples and pagodas was not as large as in previous years, while epidemic preventive measures were strictly implemented.

As in many other places, going to pagodas in the first days of Tet is a common activity for people in Hanoi. Facing the recent complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic, many people have been wishing for health instead of praying for wealthy as in the old years.

Right after the New Year's Eve, at the famous Quan Su Pagoda in the heart of Hanoi, people pray in the peaceful atmosphere and comply with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control. Hand-sanitising spots are located at the entrances of Quan Su Pagoda. People wore masks and took full measures to prevent the epidemic.

At Tay Ho Temple, functional forces and management board members are regularly present to remind people to wear masks and implement epidemic preventive measures.

At Ha Pagoda, only about 30 people are allowed to enter in each turn to avoid gatherings of large crowds.
