In 2024, with the drastic direction and management of the Government and the Prime Minister, the Ethnic Committee has closely followed the Resolutions of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, and the direction of the Prime Minister to focus on directing and concretising them into plans and programs of ethnic work to strive for implementation.
With the attention of the Party and the State, together with the strong participation of all levels, sectors and the efforts of ethnic people in synchronously implementing policies in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, social security policies, the socio-economic situation in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in 2024 continued to develop; the economic structure has a positive shift, people’s livelihoods have been increasingly diverse and rich; material and spiritual life has been constantly improved; the number of poor households was rapidly reduced; education and health care has been given attention; culture, good customs and practices has gradually been preserved and promoted; security and order have been maintained; the great solidarity of ethnic groups has been consolidated and strengthened.
Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government emphasised the role, significance and importance of ethnic work and ethnic policies in the cause of national construction and defence, especially when the country enters a new era, an era of national development.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasised a number of outstanding achievements in implementing ethnic policies and ethnic work in 2024, such as poverty reduction, education and training; preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values; building a political system at the grassroots level...
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Party committees and authorities at all levels need to engage more strongly and resolutely in implementing ethnic policies and ethnic work, in order to continue to further improve the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.
