FDI businesses win Golden Dragon Awards

As many as 73 foreign-invested businesses and 100 domestic companies were honoured with the 12th Golden Dragon Awards and the 9th Vietnamese Trademark Awards, respectively, in Hanoi on March 16.

FDI businesses that won the Golden Dragon Awards this year operate in the fields of finance-banking, insurance, cement production and car manufacturing. Among the winners are Chinfon Cement Corporation, Ford Vietnam Co., Ltd and Lavie Co., Ltd.

In 2012, foreign investors invested more than US$13 billion in Vietnam, of which US$10.5 billion was disbursed. The FDI sector recorded an export turnover of over US$73 billion last year, accounting for 66% of the country’s total exports.

Meanwhile, 100 local businesses were recognised for their efforts in overcoming a series of difficulties in 2012. Typical businesses include Ngo Gia Tu One-member Co. , Ltd, Viet Tien Garment Joint Stock Corporation, and Vincom Joint Stock Company.
