First Vincom shopping centre opens in Da Nang

Vingroup opened its first shopping centre, Vincom Ngo Quyen, in the central coastal city of Da Nang on June 30.

The 40,000-square-metre shopping centre, located in Ngo Quyen Avenue, includes a basement and four floors comprising of supermarkets, a food court and a range of stores selling the latest fashions, home appliances, furniture, books and stationary as well as other various consumer goods.

Highlights of the complex include a 30-millimetre ice rink and a 3,000-square-metre education-entertainment centre for kids.

The same day Vingroup also launched VinPro, its electronic and home appliances store, and the VinMart supermarket in the central resort city with a range of promotional programmes.

Consumers at VinPro will have the opportunity to win tickets to enjoy the company’s entertainment facilities in Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc, as well as huge discounts during certain hours.

VinMart Da Nang is the 15th supermarket run by Vingroup throughout the country and its opening reaffirms the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in the central region, offering the best products in terms of quality and origin.

The Vincom and Vincom Mega Mall chains are developed and operated by Vingroup’s retail unit, Vincom Retail.

It is expected that Vincom Retail will be operating as many as 30 shopping malls in 19 provinces and cities by 2015.

Vingroup announced on June 29 that the US global equity firm Warburg Pincus had invested an additional US$100 million into Vincom Retail, raising its total investment in the Vietnamese company to US$300 million.
