The meeting was organised by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen Province to campaign for the election of candidates for the 16th National Assembly in Constituency No. 1, Thai Nguyen Province.
At the meeting, voters heard presentations on the list and brief biographies of the candidates and their action programmes if elected to the 16th National Assembly.
General Phan Van Giang expressed his sincere gratitude for the attention and support from the Party Committee, the administration, the Fatherland Front Committee at all levels, departments, agencies, armed forces, and the people of Thai Nguyen Province.
Informing voters about the preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, General Phan Van Giang emphasised the important political purpose and significance of the event; he also summarised the outstanding achievements in the socio-economic development of the country and Thai Nguyen Province in recent years, and the major orientations in the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.
Presenting his action programme, General Phan Van Giang affirmed that if elected by voters as a deputy to the 16th National Assembly, he will strive to fulfil his responsibility as a representative of the will and aspirations of the people.
The General affirmed that he would leverage practical experience and, together with National Assembly delegates, participate in building and perfecting the legal system, especially in the fields of military affairs, national defence, and safeguarding the Fatherland; strengthen supervision of the implementation of the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, and the National Assembly’s resolutions, as well as issues of concern to voters.
He pledged to work with members of the Government to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management; build a democratic, professional, and modern administration that serves the people, proactively integrates internationally, and enhances the ability to respond to non-traditional security challenges.
Together with the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, we will thoroughly understand and implement the Party’s guidelines and viewpoints on military and national defence; build a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern People’s Army, serving as the core in building a strong national defence system and firmly protecting the Fatherland in the new situation; and effectively fulfil the functions of a fighting force, a working force, and a productive labour force.
At the conference, voters expressed their trust and high appreciation for the political qualities, work capacity, and action programme of General Phan Van Giang; they expected him to continue to uphold his responsibilities, maintain close contact with voters, participate in making sound decisions on important national issues, and live up to the people’s trust.
