On January 15, he said that the city’s growth will be underpinned by three pillars: seaport services and logistics, green and smart industry, and international marine tourism.

The Deputy PM shared his expectation that Hai Phong will become a leading city in Asia and the world with a high level of development.

He noted that Hai Phong is a crucially important port city and an industrial centre of Vietnam as well as an economic, cultural and educational centre of the northern coastal region, with very favourable conditions for development.

The city is also a point in the Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh development triangle — one of the country’s most dynamic regions — with good infrastructure to become a gateway linking the Red River Delta with other regions.

According to the government leader, in order to transform the plan into reality, Hai Phong needs to promote its spirit of dynamism, creativity, and daring to take risks.

Deputy PM also called on the city to tap into the favourable mechanisms granted by the National Assembly and determine the most effective path for its development.
