Ho Chi Minh City calls for Ireland’s experience in food processing

The city leader made the request at a reception for Ireland's Minister of State for Food, Forestry and Horticulture, Andrew Doyle, who is on a working visit to the city.

He appreciated the contributions made by Minister of State Andrew Doyle towards cementing the ties between Ireland and Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, in green and safe agriculture.

He reaffirmed that the city’s authorities have attached great attention to boosting its agricultural sector, particularly high-tech agriculture and the food processing industry.

He urged Ireland to intensify its cooperation and experience sharing in high-tech agriculture and the conservation of ecological forests for tourism development.

While expressing his admiration for the rapid and dynamic development of HCM city Minister of State Andrew Doyle asserted that Ireland wants to foster its cooperation with the city in fields of mutual concern.

Sharing the same view with the HCM city leader on agricultural development and green tourism, he suggested that HCM city designs solutions which would establish a harmony between ecological tourism development and environmental protection, and between land management and forest development and protection, while investing more in applied scientific research in agriculture.
