Speaking at the ceremony, Le Truong Luu, Secretary of Hue City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Council, recalled the heroic history of the city throughout different periods. He emphasised that the momentous victory in the spring of 1975 was the culmination of a long struggle for national liberation, marked by the sacrifices of countless dedicated cadres, Party members, and the people through various stages of history.

He noted that 50 years after liberation and nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation policy, Hue has achieved remarkable progress. As of 2024, most key socio-economic indicators have met or exceeded targets, with an economic growth rate of 8.15% and total state budget revenue reaching nearly 13 trillion VND, approaching fiscal balance. The city's socio-cultural industries have also seen positive transformations.
