The event was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha, the leaders of other Vietnamese ministries, and representatives from many of France’s leading enterprises, such as Airbus, EDF, VINCI, Total, Air Liquide, SUEZ, and Michelin.
In his speech, Deputy PM Minh suggested that Vietnamese and French enterprises strengthen business connections and cooperation on the basis of promoting their respective advantages and best serving the two countries’ development demands in the current period.
The leaders of Vietnamese ministries and sectors provided the French firms with information related to Vietnam’s policies and directions in an array of fields, such as energy development, especially in regard to clean and renewable energy; oil exploration and exploitation; petrochemicals; safe water supply and waste treatment; adaptation efforts to climate change; the environment; urban transport development; and the development of projects in the form of public-private partnerships (PPP) or build-operate-transfer (BOT) systems.
French companies applauded Vietnam’s economic and integration achievements, as well as the efforts made by the Vietnamese Government intended to improve the business climate, implement a facilitative Government, and promote sustainable development.
They spoke highly of the significance of the official visit made by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to France, voicing his wish to contribute more and effectively participate in development and investment projects in Vietnam, thus creating new drivers for economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
