The ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) 2025 is held from February 25 to 26 in Hanoi under the theme “Building a United, Inclusive, and Resilient ASEAN in a Changing World.” This multilateral event is initiated and organised by Vietnam.
AFF 2025 is organised at a particularly significant time, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam, 30 years since Vietnam joined ASEAN, 10 years since the establishment of the ASEAN Community, and also the year in which ASEAN intends to adopt the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.

The forum, first held in April 2024 in Hanoi, was a great success, attracting widespread interest, support, and engagement from ASEAN countries and the international community.
AFF 2025 spans two days and features several plenary sessions on topics including: major trends affecting ASEAN and the world through 2035; strengthening ASEAN’s foundational principles to address future challenges; sub-regional cooperation aimed at promoting resilience and sustainable development; governance of emerging technologies to ensure comprehensive security; and ASEAN’s role in fostering unity and promoting peace in a fragmented world.
On the morning of February 25 at the Diplomatic Academy, parallel panel discussions were held on “Women, Peace, and Security: Digital Transformation for Sustainable Peace” and “Advancing Smart Agriculture for Regional Food Security.”
