Inauguration ceremony held for Vam Xang Bridge spanning Can Tho River

The Can Tho City People's Committee held a ceremony on May 21 to inaugurate Vam Xang Bridge, spanning Can Tho River, and the roads connecting Vam Xang Bridge with National Highway 61C.

The event saw the presence of Former Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and local authorities.

Vam Xang Bridge is a key project of Can Tho Cityspanning a total length of 3.3km which is expected to help promote socio-economic development and facilitate transportation in Nhon Nghia Commune, Phong Dien District. The bridge itself measures 480m in length and 14m in width while the remainder accounts for the roadsleading to the bridge.

The bridge, with a total investment of nearly 450 billion VND (19.4 million USD), starts from Nguyen Van Cu Street and ends on National Highway 61C.

This is the fourth bridge spanning Can Tho River,following the Quang Trung, Cai Rang and Hung Loi bridges.

Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc He said Vam Xang Bridge is one of the key traffic works of the locality, meeting the travel and freight needs of the people and boosting socio-economic development of Phong Dien District and Can Tho City.
