Viet Nam’s benchmark VN-Index rose 1.01% to 1,701.29 points on March 17. The index closed 17.08 points higher after losing 3.03 points in the previous session.
Global gold prices surged on September 19 to 4,377 USD per ounce, driven by strong bargain-hunting and rising demand for the precious metal as a safe-haven asset. Domestically, prices for SJC gold bars and gold rings remained unchanged, quoted at 147.6 million VND/tael and 147.1 million VND/tael, respectively.
