In addition to 50 booths displaying longan produced by local cooperatives and farmers, the event is also showcasing Hung Yen’s outstanding products of the One Commune One Product programme.

The total longan growing area of Hung Yen is estimated at 5,000 hectares, 1,200 hectares of which are certified as meeting Vietnamese standards on good agricultural practices, known as VietGAP.

The province’s longan output in 2022 is estimated at 45,000 tonnes, 5% of which are early-ripening longans.

In addition to fresh fruits, longans are also dried for long-term preservation.

In order to enhance the quality and value of longans, Hung Yen is stepping up its support for enterprises, cooperatives and orchards in applying Vietnamese and international farming practices.

The province is also working to build and develop geographical indications, labels and packaging, bring longans to e-commerce platforms, and promote export to ASEAN, China, Japan, the EU and the Republic of Korea.
