The meeting, jointly organised by the provincial unions of friendship organisations and the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, was attended by Cuban Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Indira Lopez Arguelelles.

The Moncada Barracks attack on July 26, 1953, sparked an armed struggle across Cuba against the dictatorship of Batista, which ultimately led to the success of the Cuban Revolution.

Consul General Indira Lopez Arguelelles said that the meeting helped increase mutual understanding and strengthen the relationship between the people of Vietnam and Cuba.

For his part, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Vice Chairman Dang Minh Thong stated that Vietnam and Cuba have walked side by side in their respective struggles for national independence, adding that the bilateral relationship has become a valuable asset of both nations.
