Following the opening remarks by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, the NASC voted to approve the conversion of forests and rice paddies into land for constructing the north-south expressway during the 2021-2025 period.

The conversion is expected to help complete the expressway on schedule.

That same morning, the committee members contributed their opinions to the report on ombudsman work in May and June.

In the draft report, voters highly valued the NASC’s extraordinary session to reduce the environmental tax on fuels while also expressing their concerns over fuel prices remaining high, resulting in rising prices of other goods and services.

In the afternoon, the NASC approved the principles of a draft resolution guiding the supervision of legal documents of the Council for Ethnic Affairs and committees of the National Assembly.

The resolution is expected to be finalised and issued in July.

Next, the NASC discussed and approved a resolution on the roles, functions, tasks, powers and the organisational structure of the Committee for Deputy Affairs.
