National Drama Festival 2024 launched

This year’s National Drama Festival brings together nearly 1,000 artists from 19 professional theatres nationwide, who will perform in 23 plays.

On June 11, the Department of Performing Arts in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen Province, and the Vietnam Theatre Artists’ Association, held the opening ceremony of the National Drama Festival 2024 at the Viet Bac Folk Music and Dance Theatre, in Thai Nguyen Province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said that the festival aims to preserve and promote traditional cultural values and honour collectives and individuals with achievements in their profession.

The event is also an opportunity for artists to exchange, learn experiences, improve professional qualifications and enhance performance quality to serve the people, Dong noted.

The festival will last until June 26.
