The country had initially set the target of sending 110,000 to 120,000 workers abroad.

Japan remained the leading market for Vietnamese workers with more than 80,000 workers. It was followed by Taiwan (China) with over 58,600 workers, the Republic of Korea with over 11,600 workers, and China with over 1,800 workers.

Vietnam aims to send about 125,000 workers abroad in 2024, with a focus on markets with high and stable income.

The country will also promote the signing of agreements on labour cooperation in addition to improving the training and quality of labour resources to work abroad.
