Nhan Dan Newspaper delegation works in China

A Nhan Dan (People’s) Newspaper delegation, led by Editor-in-Chief Thuan Huu, is on a working trip to China (April 11-19) at the invitation of Chinese People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China.

On the afternoon of April 12, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Liu Yunshan, member of China’s Politburo Standing Committee and First-ranked Secretary of the Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of China, hosted a reception for the Nhan Dan delegation.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Liu Yunshan warmly welcomed and praised the significance of the visit by Nhan Dan Newspaper delegation, the central organ of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He affirmed that the Vietnam-China relationship has gained positive progress, especially after the official visit by Vietnam’s General Secretary, Nguyen Phu Trong, in which the cooperation between the two Party newspapers is an important part.

He suggested the two sides promote the exchange of delegations between the two newspapers in particular and the two countries' Press in general through specific and practical contents, contributing to promoting bilateral relations.

For his part, Editor-in-Chief Thuan Huu, who is also a member of Vietnam’s Party Central Committee cum Chairman of Vietnam Journalists’ Association, stressed that Nhan Dan and People's Daily have a long tradition of cooperating in line with the two parties, the two countries and the two peoples’ careers.

Each year, Nhan Dan Newspaper welcomes a number of Chinese journalists and press agencies, including the People's Daily, to visit and work in Vietnam, contributing to facilitate bilateral exchanges and cooperation between the two countries’ Press, thus objectively and actively reflect achievements of socio-economic development of each country.

He expressed his wish that, in the coming time, the two sides would intensify cooperation and exchange and organise visits by two countries' correspondents to survey in localities and regions of each nation, thereby promoting propaganda on development of each country for developed relations of both sides.

Later the same day, Yang Zhenwu, President of the People's Daily, and Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-Chief, Thuan Huu, held talks, in which they reviewed the relationship between the two Party newspapers over the past years, while emphasising the role of each agency in the revolutionary press career and in each country's construction and development cause.

They also exchanged experiences in promoting development of each newspaper, especially in mixing traditional media with new types of multimedia to maintain the leading banner of communication in the Internet era.

They proposed a range of measures to promote extensive cooperation between the two Party newspapers.

On the occasion, Nhan Dan delegation visited the traditional room, media centre and the modern newspaper house model of the People’s Daily, as well as discussing development of the Press on the Internet and social networks and linkage for development of new types of media.

In addition to Beijing, Nhan Dan delegation also visits and works in Liaoning, Xinjiang and Guangdong.
