Party Central Committee member and Nhan Dan Newspaper Editor-in-chief Thuan Huu made the statement on October 26 while receiving RoK Deputy Minister of Culture Choi Kyu-hak, who is on a visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Editor-in-chief Huu, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, informed the guest about the fine co-operation between the two countries’ journalists’ associations. The two agencies hold annual exchanges to share professional experiences and boost co-operation, he added.
Vietnam and RoK share many similarities, the newspaper’s leader stressed, especially in culture and gastronomy, noting that RoK culture has been widely and significantly spreading in Vietnam in recent years through cinematography and music, particularly among Vietnamese youngsters.
For his part, Deputy Minister Choi Kyu-hak congratulated Vietnamese people on their achievements over the past years, saying that the country has made positive and remarkable changes since he lived and worked there in 1990s.
The Deputy Minister also applauded the close co-operation for mutual development between Vietnam and RoK, which has brought fruitful results in many fields, adding that the two countries are looking forward to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties (December 22, 1992-2012).
He said he hoped that as a prestigious press agency in Vietnam, Nhan Dan newspaper will continue providing Vietnamese readers with information of RoK activities in Vietnam in all fields, contributing to the development of bilateral relations.
