PM praises Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund for spillover effects

The PM made the remarks at the meeting with the Executive Board and members of the Vu A DinhScholarship Fund at the Government Office on March 15 on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the 22nd anniversary of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the 7th anniversary of the Club for Beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.

Former Vice President cum Chairwoman of the Vu ADinh Scholarship Fund and the Club for Beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, Truong My Hoa, said that over the past 22 years, the fund has raised nearly VND400 billion to present nearly 85,000 scholarships to outstanding studentsin addition to investing in human resource development projects.

The fund has also sponsored the building of 166 social houses, 39 bridges, roads and tens of thousands of gifts to disadvantaged people. In particular, the fund has built 17 schools in remote and island areas.

The fund also established the Club for Beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa demonstrating the affection for the country’s sea and islands.

The Club has nearly 3,000 individual members and nearly 120 collective members who have contributed to raising people’s awareness of protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands while providing support for the children of fishermen and soldiers.

The PM appreciates the fund for its practical and meaningful activities while praising sponsors and benefactors for their significant contributions to the fund.

He expressed his hope that the fund will continue to operate effectively in the future and support disadvantaged people in society.
