The PM visited the 110-km Can Tho – Ca Mau expressway, which runs through the cities and provinces of Can Tho, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang and Ca Mau, with total investment of about 27.5 trillion VND (1.12 billion USD).
He asked the Ministry of Transport and the project management board to speed up preparations for the implementation work, with attention paid to the fight against corruption and other negative phenomena, and push ahead with site clearance.
The leader also visited a wind power project and had a working session with renewable energy investors in Bac Lieu, during which he affirmed that Vietnam has adopted mechanisms facilitating wind power development.
Pointing to the high price of wind power in Vietnam, Chinh urged reviewing investment in renewable energy, especially wind power, to ensure the harmony of interests between investors, the State and people.
He highlighted the transfer of technology and personnel training to ease imports, thus reducing the electricity price, and suggested investors and localities put the circular economic model, which combines wind power development with hydrogen production, agriculture and aquaculture, into place.
