Speaking at the conference, PM Pham Minh Chinh emphasised that the 11th Party Central Committee issued Resolution No.9-NQ/TW on continuing innovation on policies and laws related to land in the period of comprehensive promotion of renewal, laying the foundation for the country to become a modern-oriented industrialised country.

After nearly 10 years of implementation, many important results in promoting resources from land for socio-economic development have been achieved, contributing to ensuring social equity and stability, national defence and security; environmental protection and climate change adaption, the PM said.

He also noted that there have also been many limitations in the implementation process, therefore, the Secretariat has issued a decision to establish a Steering Committee to summarise the 10-year implementation of Resolution No.19-NQ/TW.

The PM emphasised that in the context of the short time to summarise the Resolution; and the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic in many provinces and cities across the country, the Steering Committee has directed central agencies, ministries, branches and localities to both ensure the requirements of disease prevention and control as well as the completion of the tasks summarising the Resolution.

Opinions at the conference also agreed on recommendations and proposals on the development of a new Resolution on major guidelines and orientations for economical, efficient and sustainable land management and use; exploiting and maximising land resources, and creating a foundation for our country to become a high-income developed country by 2045.

The new Resolution is expected to be submitted to the Party Central Committee for consideration and promulgation in order to orient continued renewal of the economical, efficient and sustainable management and use of land in the coming period.
