Thinh made the statement during a November 18 working session with the Ha Giang provincial emulation and reward council on the locale’s emulation and reward work and the realisation of the national target programme on building new-style rural areas and socioeconomic development tasks for 2016.
She praised Ha Giang’s positive performance with regards to the three abovementioned issues, urging the province to raise awareness of the responsibility of Party organisations and authorities at all levels concerning emulation and rewards and to promote their leading roles in patriotic emulation movements.
Emulation and reward work must ensure accuracy, publicity, equality and timeliness, focusing on honouring small-sized collectives and direct labourers, aiming to serve educational purposes and to have a widespread effect on the community, the vice president noted.
In order to successfully implement the new-style rural area construction programme, she asked Ha Giang to “heat up” emulation movements and replicate exemplary models and creative working methods in building new-style rural areas.
Later the same day, Vice President Thinh offered incense to heroes and fallen soldiers at the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs’ Cemetery in Ha Giang’s Vi Xuyen district. She encouraged local authorities to better perform restoration work at the cemetery to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for national independence and to educate the younger generations.
