President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, lifestyle and morality forever illuminate Vietnam’s revolution: Politburo member

President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, lifestyle and morality, as well as his great revolutionary cause, will forever be the torch lighting and guiding Vietnam’s revolution in the process of national renewal, development and protection, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong said.

Thuong, who heads the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, made the remark at a national scientific seminar entitled “President Ho Chi Minh and the cause of national renovation, development and defence” in Hanoi on May 8.

He affirmed that in any circumstance and condition, the Vietnamese Party and people are always loyal to and persistent with the ideals, goals and revolutionary path of national independence associated with socialism, taking Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought as an ideological basis and a guideline for all actions.

In addition, the Vietnamese Party and people actively study and follow the thought, morality and lifestyle of Uncle Ho, while remaining determined to realise the noble goal of building a prosperous nation with wealthy people and a democratic, fair and civilised society, the official stated.

He placed a particular emphasis on the great value and significance of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought on Party building and rectification and improving revolutionary morality for the cadres and Party members.

Politburo member Thuong stressed the need to associate Party building and rectification with the building and perfecting of a law-governed socialist state truly of the people, by the people and for the people, and the building of a pure and strong political system, contributing to enhancing the Party’s leadership and fighting power.

At the seminar, presentations focused on profoundly analysing President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts that have been illuminating the Vietnamese Party and people’s renewal, international integration and national construction and defence causes towards even greater victories.

Many presentations suggested that the Party should regularly carry out the work of Party building and rectification and maintain solidarity and unity within the Party, taking it as the nucleus to unite the entire people, practice democracy, uphold the people's mastery, and promote the strength of great national unity. In addition, the Party must resolutely and persistently prevent and combat bureaucracy, corruption and waste, while fighting opportunism, individualism and egotism in all forms.
