The event was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party City Vuong Dinh Hue along with members of the Party Central Committee: Chu Ngoc Anh, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee; and Le Truong Luu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Thua Thien Hue Province.
In his opening speech, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu NgocAnh emphasised that the national history has affirmed that the three cities have joined together in production, struggled with harsh nature, and fought against invaders to protect the Fatherland. This spirit was vividly expressed in each historical period.
The special relationship among the three cities is expected to continue to be fostered by generations of cadres, party members and people, significantly contributing to successfully implement the cause of industrialisation and modernisation, for the national construction and defence.
Speeches delivered by delegates at the meeting also affirmed the close relationship between Hanoi, Hue and Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City); they analysed the historical perspective of the cooperation and discussed heritage tourism development cooperation among the three cities.
