Speaking at the 22th congress of the Provincial Party Committee (2020-2025 term) on October 12, Politburo member Mai who is also Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation pointed out Quang Nam’s favourable conditions, its giving of priority to the development of high technology and clean industry and the stepping up of the restructuring of the agricultural sector in a sustainable direction.
The Politburo member also urged Quang Nam to effectively manage and utilise its potential and strength from the sea, developing a marine economy in association with in association with protecting the sovereignty of sea and islands of the country and promoting tourism development as a key economic sector.
As a strategic area, the province should pay attention to ensuring national defence and security, as well as proactively and effectively preventing and combat hostile forces’ plots and acts of sabotage while accelerating the “All people protect national security” movement, she added.
Politburo member Mai also asked each delegate to uphold their sense of responsibility and solidarity for the common revolutionary cause and for local development and to carefully elect qualified, virtuous, talented, competent and reputable comrades to the new Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
