At the session, Vice President Xuan praised the local efforts to organise meetings between the NA candidates and voters, raise the people’s awareness of their rights and obligations to vote in the elections, and resolve citizens’ relevant complaints and denunciations.

To ensure safety on the election day amidst the COVID-19 complexity, she asked the province to strengthen pandemic prevention and control measures, accelerate communication on the elections, and provide full information on the candidates as well as the rules and methods for valid voting.

Dak Nong should well anticipate the possible situations concerning political security, social order, natural disasters and especially COVID-19 to make proactive and effective response, while reviewing and promptly supplementing necessary equipment to ensure infrastructure for the elections, the Vice President said.

* On the same day, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Dinh Khang headed another supervision team of the NEC to inspect election preparations in the northern province of Lai Chau.

He urged the local authorities to continue the effective implementation of directives and resolutions from the Politburo, the NA, the NEC and the Prime Minister on guiding the election work; organise meetings with voters for the NA candidates in a fair, safe, democratic and legal manner; enhance the work of ensuring security, safety, order and healthcare, especially in key locations; and strengthen the supervision and inspection over election preparations across the province.

Meanwhile, the local voters expressed high agreement with the candidates’ action programmes, voicing their expectation that the elected NA deputies will promote their abilities and experience, keep their promises, and pay attention to addressing the issues of voters’ concern.
