Memorial services held for former Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Con

Late Deputy PM Nguyen Con (alias Nam); was born on May 15, 1916, in Thanh Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district, in the Central province of Nghe An. He passed away on January 9, in Hanoi, at the age of 107.

NDO – A state-level funeral for former Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Con, were held at the National Funeral Hall at No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi, on January 13.

The delegation from the Party Central Committee, led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, paid tribute to the late Deputy PM. Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent a wreath to commemorate the late Deputy PM Nguyen Con.


Many incumbent and former leaders of the Party and State attended the funeral.


Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed his condolences to the family of the late Deputy PM.


The delegation from the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, paid tribute to late Deputy PM Nguyen Con.


The delegation from the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, led by NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai, attended the funeral to bid farewell to the late Deputy PM.


The delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, led by VFF Vice President Ngo Sach Thuc, paid tribute to late Deputy PM Nguyen Con.


The delegation from the Lao Embassy in Vietnam paid tribute to former Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Con.


The ceremony to pay tribute to late Deputy PM Nguyen Con, took place from 8:00 a.m. on January 13, with a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. followed by a burial ceremony at 1 p.m. on the same day, at the Mai Dich Cemetery in Hanoi.
