On October 9, the NA deputies held a meeting with Hanoi’s authorities to discuss preparations for the upcoming 14th NA's sixth session under the chair of Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee, Hoang Trung Hai.

It is standard practice for the city’s NA deputy delegation, before each NA session, to help the delegates comprehensively grasp the local socio-economic situation and recommendations.

At the meeting, the city’s authorities proposed to the NA recommendations related to the amendment, supplementation and improvement of the legal system, as well as supreme supervision. Notably, Hanoi suggested that the Government allow the city to collect tolls from vehicles operating in several areas with high risk of traffic jams and environmental pollution to limit the number of vehicles from entering the city, while completing regulations to implement electric vehicle management similar to that of motorcycles.

At the meeting, local issues concerned by the NA delegation were discussed by leaders of relevant Hanoi’s units, clarifying the management and handling of fire and explosion violations in bloc towers, the progress on granting certificates of land-use rights to flat owners, and solutions for environmental pollution treatment, in addition to management responsibility in licensing art performance activities.

Politburo member Hai, who is also Head of the city’s NA deputy delegation, said that these issues were also included in the city’s urban administrations and Hanoi is focusing on directing the resolutions and strengthening the responsibility of the heads of the local units at all levels to handle them.

Regarding a pilot management project based on the model of urban government that Hanoi is implementing, Politburo member Hai asked the NA deputies to actively study the model and discuss thoroughly the project contents at the upcoming NA session.
