Speaking at the meeting, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, who is also head of the Government’s Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, highlighted the outstanding achievements that have been gained in administrative reform, significantly contributing to the creation of a clear and favourable legal corridor for socio-economic development.
The Deputy PM asked the Council to promote independent assessment of implementing administrative reforms in ministries, branches and localities, with a focus on the survey and evaluation of the implementation of administrative reforms in the fields of tax, customs, electricity, and administrative compliance expenses, among others.
He also asked the agencies concerned, as well as the advisory council, to step up the reorganisation and consolidation of the streamlined administrative apparatus in order to operate more effectively.
The Deputy PM underscored the need to develop mechanisms, policies and laws in all fields, particularly science and technology, information and communications, and education and training, in order to improve the productivity, quality and competitiveness of the country’s economy.
