Congratulating Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang, who has been assigned as the new head of an Academy with 66 years of establishment and development, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his belief that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang would successfully complete his mission.

The PM reminded the Academy of its important mission to promote the growth of social science in Vietnam. He stated that such a major organisation, with over 2,000 employees, must try its best to contribute to the government’s direction and policy preparation, to deliver timely consultation to the Party and the government, as well as to perform research with an innovative spirit.

The Prime Minister also expressed his wish that research topics, especially basic ones, should be more practical in addressing the current social issues in Vietnam. To fulfil this task, researchers must upgrade their own thinking, skills, and working culture in order to adapt to the high demands of reality, he added.

Born in Hanoi in 1975, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang was the Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences before being promoted to this new position.
