Minh, also Minister of Foreign Affairs, made the statement at a meeting with representatives of press organisations on January 14.

The Deputy PM expressed his great empathy for reporters covering events abroad while they do their utmost to promptly convey the images and contents to readers both at home and abroad.

He thanked the media for their cooperation and support over the past year and expects them to continue working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2020 when Vietnam assumes the chairmanship of ASEAN and non-permanent membership at the UN Security Council.

On the occasion, Deputy PM Minh awarded certificates of merit to individuals and groups who demonstrated excellent performances in external information services.
