Vinh Phuc asked to boost administrative reforms aligned with socio-economic development

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh head of the Government’s Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, held a working session with the People’s Committee of Vinh Phuc province on administrative reform and policies for ethnic minority groups on July 13.

The province reported that over 80% of local people are satisfied with the public services conducted by the province.

The province has also cut at least 20% from the timeneeded to handle 825 administrative procedures and has also amended, supplemented and removed 593 procedures.

The province advanced four places in the Public Administrative Reform Index in 2019 and was among the provinces with the highest scores in terms of theProvincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI).

The Deputy PM lauded the efforts of Vinh Phuc and its achievements in socio-economic development, particularly in terms of administrative reforms and the implementation of policies regarding ethnic minority groups.

The government official said that the province should continue to boost administrative reforms in parallel with promoting socio-economic development in the context that the province’s economy has been heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also emphasised the important role of Vinh Phuc inregional and national economic development strategies as it is located in the Northern key economic region, being a gateway to Hanoi and a bridge connecting Northwest provinces with the capital city and the Red River Delta region.
