Speaking at the meeting, Politburo member Thuong urged Vietnamese representative offices in foreign countries to thoroughly grasp the Party and State’s guidelines on foreign affairs and external information while acting as a bridge to strengthen relationships between Vietnam and countries around the world.

The Party official also advised that the Vietnamese representative missions should keep updated on the situation of overseas Vietnamese citizens in their host country, thus promoting their role as official channels popularising Vietnam’s information to the overseas Vietnamese and international friends.

He also requested accelerated popularisation of Vietnam’s guidelines and policies through foreign languages, along with the country’s active and positive role in addressing international issues.

He also emphasised coordination between representative offices abroad with ministries, agencies and localities at home in promoting collaboration in trade, investment and science-technology between Vietnam and other nations.
