In his letter, the State leader warmly and sincerely addressed teachers, educational administrators, staff, students, learners, and their parents, extending his best wishes on the occasion of the 2025-2026 academic year opening, a time of joyful celebration across the country marking the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution, National Day, and the education sector’s founding.
He recalled that exactly eighty years ago, in the historic autumn shortly after Viet Nam gained independence, President Ho Chi Minh wrote a letter to students on their first school opening day, expressing his immense love and strong faith that the young generation of Viet Nam would lead the country to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world's great powers.
This sacred aspiration continues to resonate, urging students to study and train diligently to deserve the sacrifices and contributions of previous generations and to contribute to the country’s protection, construction, and development.
Reflecting on the past academic year, the President noted the proactive and active role of the education sector in advising, proposing, and perfecting important mechanisms, policies, and legal documents aimed at renewing and developing education and training for the new phase.
The entire education system successfully implemented the new general education programme from grade 1 to grade 12, marking an initial success in reforming general education.
He noted with pleasure that the quality of education across all levels improved, with Vietnamese students achieving high results in international and regional Olympiads, thereby enhancing Viet Nam’s educational standing internationally.
These efforts were highly commendable and have strengthened society's belief and support for the ongoing renewal and development of education and training, he stressed.

On behalf of the Party and State, the President warmly congratulated and praised the very proud achievements attained in the 2024-2025 academic year.
He also pointed out that the 2025-2026 academic year is the first one unfolding under a new context, following the completion of administrative unit reorganisation and a two-tier local government model. It is also the first year implementing Resolution 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 by the Politburo on breakthrough development in education and training.
The President hoped that the education sector would focus on the year's theme: “Discipline – Creativity – Breakthrough – Development,” and continue aiming to form and develop well-rounded individuals with knowledge, ethics, skills, courage, and aspiration to meet the country’s rapid and sustainable development requirements in a new era — the era of national rise.
On the eve of the new school year, the President expressed his confidence that students and learners would continue to nurture their dreams, study and train persistently, and become patriotic, responsible, creative, compassionate citizens with great aspirations to build a prosperous and happy country.
He wished for teachers, educational managers, and workers to maintain their enthusiasm and passion for their profession, continuously innovate and create, and foster a happy learning environment for their students.
The President also called on parents to continue accompanying schools and society with love and responsibility to care for the future generation.
He urged central agencies, Party committees, and local authorities to pay more attention to education with practical policies benefiting teachers and students.
He wished all educators and students good health, happiness, and many achievements in the new academic year, so that Vietnamese education can play an important role in bringing the country to "stand shoulder to shoulder with the powers of the five continents," fulfilling President Ho Chi Minh’s wish.
