At the event, delegates from France, Russia, the US and Laos recalled their support to the two Vietnamese negotiation delegations of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam at the Paris conference four decades ago.

They affirmed they and progressive people around the world, including citizens of countries that had different politics and culture, supported Vietnam’s just struggle because of the country’s enthusiasm for peace.

Vietnam’s triumph at the conference that forced the US to sign the Paris Agreement is a great encouragement for peace and justice lovers all over the world, they added.

They asked Vietnam, which has a growing position at international forums, to actively participate in solving global issues to make the 21st century a period of peace, friendship, co-operation and development.

Speaking at the event, President Sang thanked international friends, including progressive people from the US, for their support to Vietnam’s just struggle. He expressed his hope that they will continue to stand next to Vietnam during its national construction and defence.

President stressed that Vietnam always welcomes international friends and is willing to co-operate with other countries in all fields.
