95 years ago, under the chairmanship of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, the conference on unifying communist organisations decided to merge the Communist Party of Indochina, the Communist Party of Annam and the Communist League of Indochina into a single party named the Communist Party of Vietnam. February 3, 1930, has become a historic milestone, marking a great turning point in the journey of national liberation, ushering in a brilliant, glorious era — the Ho Chi Minh era.
Under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the entire nation rose up as one to break the chains of slavery, using our own strength to liberate ourselves, gradually achieving great victories and achievements of historic and epochal significance, overthrowing French colonialists, the rule of Japanese fascists, driving out American imperialists, preserving the territorial integrity of our homeland, and building and developing the country.
Throughout the revolutionary struggle, our Party, with its apt and creative leadership approach based on and closely connected with the people, has rallied the immense strength of the entire nation, overcoming all dangers and hardships to reach the shores of glory.
In the cause of renewal, the Party has always firmly grasped the lesson of promoting great national unity, turning challenges into opportunities, and achieving great historic accomplishments that serve as a solid foundation for the country to steadily advance towards socialism, thus building a society of the people, by the people and for the people.
History has proven that the Party's correct and wise leadership is the primary factor determining all victories. Through arduous revolutionary periods, our Party has been tempered and increasingly matured, constantly innovating its thinking and leadership methods, strengthening its combat capacity in all circumstances, worthy of its revolutionary leadership mission and the trust and expectations of the people.
Reflecting on the 95-year history of the Party, proud of our glorious Party, we are deeply grateful for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, the talented leader and great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution who founded, led and trained our Party. We shall forever remember the dedication and sacrifice of our preceding leaders, heroes, martyrs, and outstanding sons and daughters of the nation who fought bravely and contributed greatly to the revolutionary cause of the Party and nation.
Carrying forward the flame of tradition, we pledge to wholeheartedly unite to firmly protect the revolutionary achievements of our nation, maintain our path of independence and self-reliance, persevere on the path to socialism, continue to comprehensively promote renovation, and establish new miracles in the new development phase.
2025 is a particularly significant year, being the final year of implementing the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, conducting party congresses at all levels in the run-up to the 14th National Party Congress — a congress marking the nation's entry into a new era, the era of the nation’s rise.
The entire Party, people and armed forces are truly determined, with decisive solutions, to accelerate the successful implementation of tasks for 2025 and the entire 2021-2026 term, striving to meet and exceed the set development targets, especially socio-economic development indicators, creating strong momentum for subsequent years. We will maintain focus on implementing solutions for rapid, sustainable development; ensuring social security, taking the best care of people's lives; maintaining national defence and security; and improving the effectiveness of foreign relations work.
Ministries, sectors, localities and units are preparing and properly organising party congresses at all levels and improving the quality of congress documents and personnel work, continuing to urgently arrange and perfect the organisation of the political system to become more streamlined, strong, efficient and effective. We continue to effectively carry out the work of building and rectifying the Party to be clean and strong; strengthening inspection and supervision; promoting self-criticism and criticism; and resolutely preventing and fighting against corruption, wastefulness, negative phenomena and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation".
Each Party organisation and member continuously studies and follows Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morality and style in conjunction with implementing the Party Central Committee's resolutions and conclusions on Party building and rectification, setting pioneering examples to strengthen people's trust and create social consensus. In all work, Party committees and authorities at all levels must thoroughly grasp the viewpoint that "the people are the root", truly trusting, respecting and promoting the people's rights to supervise and exercise mastery.
New spring, new victories. The entire Party, people and armed forces have absolute faith in the path chosen by our Party and beloved Uncle Ho, ceaselessly striving with high determination and decisive action to achieve the set development goals, building an increasingly powerful and prosperous Vietnam.
