The project is sponsored by Merry Year International and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) with a total value of more than 12 billion VND.

The project aims to help needy women and women living in difficult circumstances to access interest-free support capital to build livelihood models, develop family economy, raise incomes, and reduce poverty sustainably.

During the 2023-2025 period, the provincial Women's Union has set the goal of supporting at least 850 disadvantaged women in accessing interest-free capital, and supporting 1,500 poor women and orphaned children in difficult circumstances with appropriate forms of social security assistance.

Previously, a project on improving income for needy households in Vinh Long Province and strengthening the capacity of local authorities was implemented by Merry Year in 12 communes, wards and towns in Vinh Long City and the districts of Long Ho, Mang Thit, and Vung Liem. It launched in 2012 and ended in November 2022, helping nearly 6,000 small-business households access capital to develop their economy, increase their incomes, and stabilise their lives.
