Russian President congratulates Party chief To Lam

Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his congratulations to President To Lam after he was sworn in as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee.

In the congratulatory message posted on Kremlin’s official website on August 4, the Russian President stressed that the result of the 13th CPV’s meeting affirmed the high political prestige of Party General Secretary Lam as well as acknowledged his contributions to ensuring the socio-economy and promoting the country’s position in the international arena.

He expressed his hope that the two countries will continue constructive dialogues and cooperation in bilateral and international agendas, and wished Party General Secretary Lam more success in Party and State operation.

The same day, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF)'s website also carried its leader Gennady Ziuganov's congratulations to the Vietnamese Party chief.

In the message, he stressed that Lam’s election is the outcome of his many-year efforts for the interests of the nation and people, believing that under the leadership of Lam, the CPV, which has been infinite loyal to President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching, will carve out more achievements in the Doi Moi (renewal) process, and well implement the resolution adopted at the 13th CPV national congress.

Ziuganov also noted his wish that the fraternal relationship, as well as the comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and peoples will continue to develop and be consolidated.
