Established in 1969 with only 40 beds, the hospital was assigned to provide healthcare check-ups and treatments for thyroid diseases and to implement the National Programme for Preventing Iodine Disorders.

Over the past 45 years, it has developed into 500-bed hospital specialising in preventing iodine deficiencies and diabetes. The hospital also takes the lead in the national network for preventing and controlling endocrine diseases and metabolic disorders.

Speaking at the event, Health Minister, Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, listed achievements the hospital has gained over the past years which have contributed to increasing citizens’ satisfaction with the health’s sector.

She highly praised the hospital staff for taking drastic measures to improve its medical services, reduce overload, and increase the qualifications of staff members.
