Speaking at a press conference for the championship’s Group B, which was held on July 4 in Manila, the Philippines, Chung hailed that the regional tournament helps participating teams to improve their professional skills, thus contributing to the development of women's football in the region.
The AFF Women’s Championship 2022 is being held in the Philippines from July 4-17, with the participation of a record 11 teams.
The Vietnamese footballers will compete against meet their opponents from Myanmar, Timor Leste, Laos and Cambodia in Group B.
The team arrived in Manila in early morning on July 4, after completing a short training session in France.
Vietnam are the current champions, having defeated Thailand in the finals of the AFF Cup 2019.
