The voluntary blood donation movement in the province has been spreading strongly, attracting large numbers of government officials, employees, youth union members, armed forces personnel, and local residents. These meaningful drops of blood not only help save many patients but also vividly reflect the spirit of solidarity and compassion in this land with a rich revolutionary tradition.

In the first months of 2025 alone, many localities and organisations in the province have organised large-scale blood donation drives. Ha Tinh City kicked off with the first Voluntary Blood Donation Festival, collecting 226 blood units. Cam Xuyen District gathered 417 units of blood in a single campaign. In Duc Tho District, nearly 400 volunteers participated, contributing 228 blood units. From lowland to highland areas such as Vu Quang and Hong Linh, these donation events have been filled with the spirit of sharing and love, with hundreds of volunteers joining.

A highlight of Ha Tinh’s voluntary blood donation movement is the active involvement of the entire political system. Government agencies, departments, and mass organisations including the provincial police, trade unions, youth unions, and the Red Cross have proactively organised numerous donation drives, encouraging participation from officials, soldiers, union members, and workers.

The Ha Tinh Provincial Police alone conducts 2–3 donation events each year, considering it both a social responsibility and an act of community service. The movement is also consistently maintained at the grassroots level in communes, wards, and townships, with dozens of “Live blood banks” ready to provide emergency blood donations when needed.

Notably, the Red Journey ‘Giot Hong Thanh Sen’ event held in Ha Tinh in June 2024 left a lasting impression, attracting over 600 participants and collecting 463 blood units. More than just a donation event, it was also an opportunity to honour outstanding individuals who have tirelessly contributed to this life-giving mission.

Since 2022, Ha Tinh’s trade unions have also mobilised members for five large-scale blood donation campaigns, making it a regular activity. Many localities and organisations have introduced creative initiatives, such as holding donation events on historical anniversaries or combining them with cultural and sports activities to attract more participants.

According to the provincial Red Cross, Ha Tinh receives thousands of blood units annually through voluntary donation campaigns, significantly aiding patient treatment at medical facilities within and beyond the province. Thanks to these efforts, blood shortages, especially during peak periods like summer and Tet, have gradually been addressed.

Today, Ha Tinh’s voluntary blood donation movement is not just an act of humanitarianism, it has become a symbol of compassion and community solidarity. These silent yet precious drops of blood continue to flow, connecting hearts, spreading love, and bringing hope to countless lives on the brink of survival.
