State leader meets Presidential Office staff

On the afternoon of March 2, President Vo Van Thuong had a meeting with the staff of the Presidential Office following his election as the Vietnamese head of state.

Speaking at the event, President Thuong expressed his great honour at being given the opportunity by Party and State leaders and the National Assembly to serve the nation and people as president.

He underlined the importance of awareness about the path of national development as well as the great responsibilities of a head of state.

In order to help fulfil this mission successfully, President Thuong said that he needs the advice of the Presidential Office as well as coordination with other Party and government agencies.

He called for complete understanding of the country’s situation in all aspects and as well as the international and regional situation.

The president stated that he is always willing to listen to the constructive suggestions of the Presidential Office staff in the cause of national development.

On the same day, President Thuong offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at his former residence at House 67 within the Presidential Palace complex.
