To maintain and expand export market share in Europe, businesses must comply with the European Union’s new regulations of Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). This is not only a challenge but also an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to enhance competitiveness and meet international standards.

The Viet Nam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), in collaboration with the Viet Nam Water and Environment Association (VWEA), convened a seminar in Ha Noi on November 12 under the theme: “Strengthening capacity and popularising knowledge to the community and businesses on carbon credit creation and participation in carbon credit trading.”

The development of a carbon credit market is an urgent necessity as Viet Nam transitions its growth model toward sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Promoting the green transformation process to advance Vietnam's economy towards sustainable, green growth and integration with global development trends, is the noble goal of Vietnam's programme, to implement its commitment to net zero emissions. Mobilising resources to achieve net zero by 2050 and ensuring a fair energy transition will help Vietnam address the dual challenge of climate change and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring sustainable economic growth.
