Party General Secretary To Lam met with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on February 5 in Vientiane during his state visit to Laos, reaffirming the two countries’ resolve to further deepen their great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion.

Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has expressed his deep appreciation and special recognition of the Vietnamese Government’s strong determination, under the close leadership and direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, in helping translate the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between Viet Nam and Laos into practical and effective outcomes.

Viet Nam’s Ministry of Public Security will continue to work closely with its Lao counterpart across all areas, striving to fulfil all tasks entrusted by the Parties, States and people of the two countries, thereby contributing to further deepening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between Viet Nam and Laos, and between the two public security ministries in particular, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang has said.

General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and his spouse Naly Sisoulith arrived in Ha Noi on January 26 morning, beginning a two-day state visit to Viet Nam at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam To Lam and his spouse.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) To Lam and his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, along with a high-ranking delegation of Viet Nam, left Wattay International Airport in Vientiane on December 2 evening, successfully concluding their two-day state visit to Laos.

A book on Viet Nam–Cuba relations was launched in Ha Noi on November 12, as part of activities marking the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (December 2, 1960 – December 2, 2025).

State President Luong Cuong's freshly-ended visits to Egypt and Angola not only reaffirmed Viet Nam’s enduring solidarity with its long-standing African partners, but also helped advance its comprehensive cooperation with regional countries across key areas, particularly in market and partner diversification in support of the country’s broader development goals, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.

At the invitation of General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, State President Vo Van Thuong is leading a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on an official visit to Laos from April 10-11.
