Party General Secretary To Lam said on March 2 that a new resolution on enhancing the Party's leadership over the prevention and control of corruption, wastefulness and negative phenomena will affirm the Party’s special attention to and serve as a “declaration” to continue adamantly intensifying the fight against the “internal enemy” in the new era with renewed thinking and innovative approaches.

Party General Secretary To Lam, who is also head of the Central Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Corruption, Wastefulness and Negative Phenomena, chaired a conference in Ha Noi on December 11 to evaluate the country’s anti-corruption combat throughout the 13th National Party Congress’s term.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has described corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena as “internal enemies”, against which the fight is long term, difficult and complex, with prevention as the priority.

During the 13th National Party Congress tenure, Viet Nam’s efforts to prevent and handle corruption, wastefulness, and other negative phenomena have yielded significant results.

Party General Secretary To Lam on July 7 emphasised the need to strengthen inspection, supervision, and auditing to promptly detect, prevent, and handle corruption, wastefulness, and misconduct related to personnel arrangements, as well as public asset use during and after the restructuring of the organisational apparatus and the implementation of the two-tier local administration model.
